TLS has announced the introduction of a new 48mm focal length to its acclaimed Canon Rangefinder series—further expanding the creative potential of one of its most distinctive rehoused lens lines. Alongside this launch, the company has also confirmed a limited-time extension of its Canon Rangefinder set offer, now running to 19th April.

The Canon Rangefinder-X 48mm

The new 48mm has been crafted as a bold extension of the original Canon Rangefinder set—introducing the ‘Canon Rangefinder-X’. It offers a perfectly balanced, instinctive perspective, blending the familiarity of a classic standard lens with a gentle, cinematic compression that adds depth, intimacy, and character to every frame.

Key features include:

• LPL mount supporting full-frame and large format coverage
• Standardised 110mm front diameter for fast lens changes
• Precision cam-driven focus system for smooth, repeatable control
• 16-blade circular iris for enhanced bokeh quality
• Improved close focus for increased creative flexibility

This approach ensures that vintage optics can perform seamlessly within modern workflows—without compromising their visual identity.

The 48mm Canon Rangefinder is available now at £6,500 fully rehoused, or clients can choose to rehouse their own lens for £5,250.

Extended Canon Rangefinder Set Offer

To coincide with the launch, TLS is extending its Canon Rangefinder set offer, giving filmmakers and rental houses additional time to invest in the full lineup. Originally scheduled for a shorter window, the offer will now be available to 19th April, see further details here.
