Cam driven focus system and chassis style lens housing allow matte boxes and other accessories to be attached to the front of the lens, without affecting focus movements. The benefit of zero backlash and image shift give accurate dual focus scales that repeat on direction and change with the cam drive system, giving a wide spread of markings through the scale.

Aluminium alloy, stainless steel, brass and robust construction guarantees a long serviceable life.

The 45mm FD-X lens is an addition to the native Canon FD range of lenses. Ideal for situations where you need to fill the gap between the 35mm and the 50/55mm range. Boasting characteristics that match well with the FD series this lens, being a T1.5, adds to the versatility of the FD set. Furthermore, with a close focus of under 13" (32cm) it is a very capable lens.

The 45mm FD-X is based on a 45mm f1.4 Yashica lens. This lens was originally part of a package, with the lens fixed onto the front of the Yashica Lynx-14 camera. Therefore, it has remained unnoticed by the cine world as a viable option for use. However, after extensive testing as well as listening to advice from our trusted customers, we believe this is a suitable addition to the Canon FD focal range.

As part of the rehousing process, TLS have introduced a new circular iris assembly. This gives the bokeh the same shape as the rest of the rehoused set. Furthermore, the iris and focus gears are in the same position as well as maintaining a 110mm front diameter. The non-linear cam gives this 45mm the same 'feel' as the rest of the set when pulling focus too.

The Zeiss B Speeds or Super Speed MK1 as they are sometimes known, were released in the mid 70’s and were some of the fastest lenses around at this time. The range consists of 18mm, 25mm, 35mm, 50mm and 85mm with a T stop of 1.4. One thing that makes the B Speeds stand out is the triangular iris which results in that distinctive triangular bokeh. This is something DOPs either love or hate and consequently, we can offer Zeiss B Speed rehousing with the option of a triangular iris, or a new circular iris design.

These lenses are also known for being very compact and as a result, TLS is rehousing the lens into a 95mm front, whilst keeping the cam-form system, high quality and strength. The original movements of the elements, some of which are floating, will be incorporated into the design so there is no loss of quality to the image.

Modular in design, all four lenses retain the original Lomo optical performances whilst upgrading the mechanics to modern day specification, using the TLS cam form focus system. Each focal length has 0.8 mod gears to the focus and aperture ring, each equidistant from the PL mount flange to aid switching on set.

All four lenses benefit from the TLS cam form focus mechanism eliminating image shift and backlash (lost motion) in the focus movement.

Standard 143mm from diameter incorporating an internal focus set up to allow matt box and accessory fitment. Robust stop mechanisms to withstand pressures of modern day servo control motors.

In demand to multiple requests to fill the gap between the 55mm and 85mm, TLS have worked hard to create this offering, the Canon 70mm FD-X lens with a T stop of T1.3.

To produce the 70mm FD-X lens, TLS use the Canon 85mm FD f1.2 (either SSC or FD L version) along with a x0.8 wide angle adaptor. The wide-angle adaptor is supplied by TLS, although this is an ‘off the shelf’ adaptor, TLS have the coatings modified by the manufacturer to closer match those of the FD lenses. Therefore, the adaptor has more magenta coatings to match the later series of FD’s and K35’s. This means that the customer only needs to supply the 85mm FD f1.2 base lens for TLS to make the conversion to a 70mm T1.3 FD-X lens. While on projection, the lens has more fall off towards the edges than the 85mm FD lens.  Initial reports from end users is that this is not noticeable and the lens matches well with the rest of the FD series. The lens has a 110mm front diameter and the focus and iris positions match the rest of the FD set.
