UK lens specialist, TLS, was finally showing their Nikon 24-70mm T2.8 rehoused lens. Called Aurora, it is the second lens in a proposed three lens set. TLS originally made the Morpheus 80-200 Nikon conversion and the third lens in the series will be the Nikon 14-24mm.

The Aurora features a greatly expanded, reversed focus rotation and a PL mount. The optics inside are from one of Nikon’s best ever mid range zooms. The lens has a 110mm front diameter and standard 0.8″ pitch focus, iris and zoom rings.

The lens covers a full frame sensor and is beautifully made. You can choose between imperial or metric markings and the iris scale has been expanded.

TLS certainly does some of the best lens conversions you will find. The Aurora looks like a great addition to their line up and if the optical quality is comparable to the 80-200, users can expect to get excellent results. Above is footage I shot with their Morpheus 80-200mm lens.
